2. What personal data we collect

Data you give us. When you submit our contact form or email us, we collect your name, email address, the company or channel you represent if you provide it, the category of your enquiry, and the content of your message.

Data collected automatically. When you visit this site, our hosting provider and any analytics tools we use may collect technical information including your IP address (which may be truncated or anonymised), browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring URL, the pages you view and the time and date of your visit.

We do not knowingly collect special categories of personal data through this website, and we ask that you do not include sensitive personal information in enquiry messages.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal data only with service providers who process it on our behalf and under contract, including our website hosting and content delivery provider, our email provider, our form-handling provider, and our analytics provider. Each is permitted to use the data only to provide the service to us.

We may also disclose personal data where required to do so by law, by a court order, or by a competent regulatory authority, or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

5. International transfers

Our service providers may process data on servers located outside Costa Rica, including in the United States and the European Union. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure an adequate level of protection, including by relying on providers who offer standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

6. How long we keep it

Enquiry correspondence is retained for up to twenty-four months from our last contact with you, unless a business relationship begins, in which case records are kept for the duration of that relationship and for the period afterwards required by applicable accounting and tax law. Analytics data is retained according to the retention setting configured in the analytics tool, ordinarily no longer than fourteen months.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you; to request its correction if it is inaccurate or incomplete; to request its erasure; to object to or request restriction of our processing of it; to request a copy in a portable format; and, where processing is based on consent, to withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country of residence — in Costa Rica, the Agencia de Protección de Datos de los Habitantes (PRODHAB).

8. Security

This website is served exclusively over HTTPS. We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including access controls, encryption in transit and restricted administrative access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted to us.

9. Children

This website is directed at businesses and professionals. It is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of eighteen. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be brought to your attention where required.
